Haha, Peter beat me to it, how on earth is your Echinacea blooming already!?! Love the bi-colored effect of 'Sensation Rose'...trés elegant!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea! I moved it twice, so maybe I stressed it?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea. I felt like everything is early but my bloom day records show that everything else is right on schedule. It's in more sun than it used to be--maybe it got excited?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see others mystified by your Echinacea blooming already. I was worried mine were behind, but it looks like yours is ahead. Phew! That Drosanthemum really pops, it looks like fireworks.
ReplyDeleteThe drosanthemum was an impulse buy, so I'm glad it's put out such fiery blooms.
ReplyDeleteJune is such a flowery month - I'm loving all your blooms! That Penstemon serrulatus is such a gorgeous blue - hope the ones we got will follow suit.
ReplyDeleteI'm really in love with that penstemon right now. The blooms range from light blue to deep purple. I had such a hard time getting a good photo in the dying light.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have noticed your Amaranthus when I was there in person, I love them and hardy even get to see them in "real life"...
ReplyDeleteThey're tucked into the vegetable bed, being eaten alive by lettuces. I'm hoping they get a lot taller so people can actually see them.
ReplyDeleteI love the selection of Penstemon that you have, especially the P. mexicali and the serrulatus. I have just the straight P. digitalis and the cultivar Husker's Red.
ReplyDeleteI looove Husker's Red!
ReplyDeleteI covet your amaranth!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a wonderful collection for this June Bloom Day, Heather! I wish I could find that Penstemon 'Dark Towers' - it hasn't shown up in any of my local nurseries.
ReplyDeleteThat surprises me--that cultivar is all over the stores here. I wish it wasn't sterile, I could send you seeds.
ReplyDeleteI'm patting myself on the back for planting that one. I'm hoping it gets BIG!
ReplyDeleteNever had much use for penstemons, but 'Dark Towers' could change my mind. Love the amaranth...did you start it from seed?
ReplyDeleteNah, I bought a start.
ReplyDeleteYour Dark Towers could almost persuade me to try Penstemons again. My Echinacea is only mildly considering blooming at this point. My Knautias are blooming up a storm though, fun. Lots of interesting flowers.
