A whole month!

The ground is dry and hard now, so there's no point in purchasing plants for the ground. I just have to water and weed and deadhead and that's not nearly as much fun.
But wait! I could buy more pots and plants for those pots! Who wants to go shopping?
Yes to shopping…always a yes to shopping! I haven't watered the hell strips at all this summer (which is awesome, btw), but I was gonna wedge a sedum piece that snapped off last weekend…I couldn't dig a hole in that ground no matter what…it's like cement now!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I've been doing! Oh, and plotting my fall planting plans...
ReplyDeleteI've been doing that too . . . it's so agonizing because I want to put things in NOW!
ReplyDeleteI think we should hit Xera, at the very least. We haven't yet been together!
ReplyDeleteI'm planning for the fall. I already have a backlog of plants that are waiting to go into redone beds, so I'm not buying anything new. I seriously don't want to wish summer away, but I do want to get those plants in the ground, so I don't have to keep watering them and worrying that they'll perish between now and fall.
ReplyDeleteI’m always game for nursery hopping…just name the time!
ReplyDeleteBut plants are so cheap now. I just got a beauty from Fred Meyer for $4.49...and it's supposed to rain tomorrow! Can you believe that I call that looking on the bright side?
ReplyDeleteWas I wrong to shop at XERA , Garden fever a d joy creek this week.?
ReplyDeleteIf that's wrong, I don't want to be right.
ReplyDeleteI just bought 5 Autumn Joy sedum for a buck a piece at our local Lowe's. Buying more pots is always an option. I have 68 so far. What's a few more? :)
ReplyDeletePlant shopping is always the answer! And you should come up to the Heronswood open and plant sale on Sept. 7! We'll be doing a tour of some great nurseries in the area!
ReplyDeleteNo new plants but weeding and dead heading can be fun too :) Enjoy the summer, you'll be plant shopping again sooner than you think!
