I win.

We were driving to Home Depot to get a replacement blade for the lawnmower and I mentioned that I wanted to get one of those wine barrel planters. Greg was like, “Let’s get it next time.”

“Why?”
“We’ll get it next time.”
“I’m getting it.”
“Just get it next time.”
“Do you know me at all? Now I’m getting two.”
“It’s not going to fit in your Honda. Let’s just come back with the truck.”
“I CAN FIT THREE IN MY HONDA. NOW I’M BUYING THREE, ARE YOU HAPPY?”

Anything can be a competition if you try hard enough!

    I want one of those too and Jake always says the same thing, "we'll get one later." I keep trying to tell him that it looks so much nicer than what some of the neighbors do. They make planters out of old tires, not my thing.

    We have neighbors that grow irises on the parking strip in tires. It's sorta cute but ultimately it still looks like trash to me.

    The wine barrel is *really* heavy. Make sure Jake helps you lift it. 🙂 Greg gave me so much grief for thinking I could get it in my car by myself.

    Oh Heather, your post really gave me a good laugh!
    I would have loved to watch you guys having this discussion. It's something that sounds very familiar to me. 🙂
    Anyway, I like that wine barrel planter. It would be too big for my garden but seems to fit well in your garden. I had a discussion with my hubby about buying one of the whiskey barrel planters and he said it's too big for the area I wanted to place it. I disagree! Well, our discussion didn't come to end end as quick as you were done discussing the wine barrel with your Greg. Our discussion is still open.
    I'll get my whiskey barrel, if he likes it or not. 😉
