Hello, gorgeous

I can’t not get excited when Oregon iris blooms.

Uh huh.

    OMG that flower is BEAUTIFUL!

Chris and I have started a wishlist (sort of) for the front yard: #1 – NO GRASS. I thought you would be pleased with our decision 🙂

Woohoo! You are close to Annie's Annuals–you could grow some amazing natives in your yard.

Seriously one of THE most beautiful flowers…the humble (but regal) Iris! I don't know why I don't have any of these yet (I stress the "yet") 🙂

I have a terrible track record with these guys blooming (only two of eight clumps have ever bloomed in three years–I think I got duds from the Audubon Society), but when they do bloom I forget all about it.

I have many Iris, but not that one: must remedy that.

And it's native, so you can be insufferable when people compliment it!

It's lovely! We have Iris x pacifica and one I. tenax that hasn't yet bloomed, but we clearly need more for the Northwest Territory part of our garden.

I'd really like to get some Douglas iris planted too–they look almost the same but they are taller. Bigger is always better in my mind. 🙂
